The short answer
What is in force now?
The Act commenced on 25 February 2026.
It may change how Lahore's waste system is controlled, but the legal creation of the Authority is not the same as a completed operational transfer from LWMC.
What it changes
The practical changes
- The Authority exists in law.
- Section 26 provides a conditional succession process for Waste Management Companies.
- A transfer date or succession order is still needed before we treat the operating chain as replaced.
In Lahore
What this means here
LWMC remains the dated Lahore operator in the public record until a qualifying transfer instrument proves otherwise.
What this does not prove
The Act does not itself supply the Lahore transfer date, asset schedule or Director General succession order.
